When we arrived the parking lot was full of people, games and activities. There was a dunk tank where you could dunk Shredder, a hockey net where you could try to score on Casey Jones, bounce houses, retro video games, a DJ and more. It was definitely a Turtle Party and they had something for everyone. And what would a Turtle Party be without the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles themselves? The guys from Turtle Power Entertainment (www.TurtlePowerEnt.com) were on hand as well for pictures and interacting with the crowd. If you haven’t seen these guys yet they truly Rock the Halfshell. Their costumes are top notch and they look like they just stepped off the original movie screen. They truly know how to bring the Turtles to life. Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael were all there as well as April O’Neil, Casey Jones (Garrett King) and a few members of DFW Foot Clan.
There was a great turnout for the 5k race. I didn’t race because I was there taking pictures, yeah taking pictures, that’s why. Several did come out to race from young to old including Andre Meadows, Black Nerd Comedy. Congrats to him on finishing the race and it was great to meet him. I can’t think of a bigger Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan.
Following the race we were treated to pizza from Mr. Jim’s and a screening of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie from 1990. It was awesome to see this again on the big screen. We also got a live performance from Partners in Kryme who performed “T-U-R-T-L-E Power” and their newest song “Rock the Halfshell”. Thanks to Chris Tickner and the staff at B&B for putting together such an awesome event that any Turtles fan would love.
The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie is out today and if you choose to go watch it I would highly recommend B&B. One of the nicer theaters I’ve attended. The seats in the balcony were incredibly comfortable complete with leg rests for reclining, cup holders and trays for food. If you’re in the Wylie area be sure to stop by and pay them a visit. B&B Theatres Wylie 12 at Woodbridge Center is located at 711 Woodbridge Parkway in Wylie, TX. Visit their website at www.bbtheatres.com or find them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/bbwylie12. Tonight, August 8th at 6PM Leonardo from Turtle Power Entertainment and members of the DFW Foot Clan will be on hand taking pictures for opening night.
