Nerd Music at This Year’s San Diego Comic Con

Are you going to San Diego Comic Con this year? Lucky. Here are some super awesome musical performances that you should check out (because you’re going to need a break from walking the floor and why not hear rad live music while you rest your feet).

Friday night is a busy one with Marian Call, Molly Lewis, and Sarah Donner returning to Rebecca’s Coffeehouse for their annual performance. It’s a bit of a walk away from the con (although if you RSVP you can get a free Uber ride to the show), but it’s a great time to relax, hang out with some awesome nerds, and listen to these lovely ladies who always put on a great show. Get more details and RSVP to that show right here (this show is all ages).

Also on Friday night, the fourth annual Nerd-A-Thon with nerdcore artists MC Lars, Schaffer the Darklord, Dr. Awkward, and MC Frontalot, who will be at the con promoting his new album Question Bedtime, which is set to be released August 26th. Not only will these guys be there, but they’ll be joined by LA-based burlesque group, Devil’s Playground, performing as the Star Girls Storm Trooper and Emperor’s Guard. You can buy tickets to this show right here (this show is 21+).

So you have a choice between nerdcore and burlesque and a concert of geek girls. Either way, your Friday night is going to be excellent.

Don’t forget to seek out these artists and others around the con floor (most of them are stationed at a booth and might play a few pop up concerts here and there around the convention center). Buy their t-shirts and CDs, sign up for their mailing lists, and give them tons of hugs and high fives for putting so much great music out into the world.
