Wait, Who?

Alex Day is a popular musician and youtuber from Essex, England. In 2006, he began making Youtube videos, and since then has gained nearly 500,000 subscribers and millions of views. Among other things, he is known for his series Alex Reads Twilight, his song Forever Yours which charted at #4 on the UK Singles Chart, and his most recent single, Lady Godiva, which reached #15  just a week after its release.

What Makes Him Nerdy?

It doesn’t take much to find a nerd-themed Alex Day video on his Youtube channel. Whether it’s a discussion of his favorite superhero movie or the downfalls of living in the Wizarding world of Harry Potter, many of his videos have a nerdy undertone.

He is also a member of the Doctor Who themed Time Lord Rock band, Chameleon Circuit.

[Pro-tip: I plan to do a Chameleon Circuit article when we're closer to the start of series 7, but by all means go check them out now because they're wonderful. A Youtube search will get you plenty of tracks. Blink and Still Not Ginger are good songs to start with. Their music is also on Spotify, iTunes, and all of those other places you get music.]

Where Should I Start?

117% Complete is probably Alex’s nerdiest release. It’s an EP of three songs about Mario Kart, Pokémon, and Sonic the Hedgehog. Sounds great, right? Here are two of the three songs to get you started:

Pokémon, What Happened to You?

I Hate Mario Kart Wii

Where Can I Get His Music?

Alex Day has released two EPs with DFTBA Records, two independent albums, and numerous singles. His music can be streamed and purchased on his website where you can also get chords and lyrics. You can also find his music on iTunes and DFTBA Records.

Subscribe, follow, and like Alex on YoutubeTwitter, and Facebook.
