Ambient Rock: “Master Drone” from The Unravelling

From the duo described as “overflowing with a bloodthirsty passion” by Pure Grain Audio, The Unravelling has a brand new single for all of you metal/hard rock fans.

You might remember us featuring their song “Revolt” just a few months ago, and if that wasn’t enough to get you hooked their newest track is sure to do the trick. “Master Drone” is a blend of industrial and metal raw with the intensity of its creators. Listen to it right here, right now:

The band was acclaimed for their debut album 13 Arcane Hymns until lead vocalist Steve Moore (whom METALSUCKS called “a thinking man’s metal singer”— what more could your ask for?) was diagnosed with cancer in 2011. After a creative hiatus spent in surgery and recovery, Moore and The Unrevelling’s co-founder and instrumentalist, Gustavo De Beauville are back at it with more energy and focus than ever.

Moore says “the Master Drone is certain of his reality, and therefore living through an artifact. He is opinionated, and likely a respectable, ambitious member of society. He could be a motivational speaker, an atheist, a religious leader, a ‘life coach’ or a serial entrepreneur. He thrives within identity and strives for new identities as he grows old. He’s in all of us. He represents our human programming.” Gustavo adds, “Master Drone turned out quite dark, heavy and to the point – I think it’s gonna be a doozy to perform live.”

You can stream and download the track for free over on The Unravelling’s Bandcamp page where you can also grab their last single “Revolt” and debut album 13 Arcane Hymns.
