For all of you (almost) nerds who dig serious hard rock and are looking for some new music, When Summer’s Gone has a new album that you won’t be able to stop listening to.
When Summer’s Gone is made up of Dave Graziani, who provides vocals and rhythm guitar, AJK on lead guitar, and Rich Morrone and Chris Lepri hold it all together with bass and drums. Since they got together back in 2008 in the long-dead steel town of New Castle, Pennsylvania, the guys have been producing strong, honest, and rad music– and Knockout Mechanism is no exception.
Here’s a little taste of Knockout Mechanism, with the official music video for their song “All Out War”
What sets When Summer’s Gone apart from other hard rock bands, and what makes them worth a listen even if you aren’t super into their particular genre, is their ability to fulfill that hard rock sensibility without forgetting about the lyrics, which are carried by the talent and experience each member possesses on their respective instrument. These guys try to be storytellers with their lyrics, something that often gets lost not just in this style of music but in a lot of music in general.
Listen to the rest of Knockout Mechanism right now by finding it on iTunes, Google Play, and AmazonMP3— it’s under nine bucks and you’ll be supporting a kickass independent band (plus it has rad album art of some guy punching out zombies, what’s not to love about that?).
If you’re still left wanting more, check out the band’s debut album, December, which they put out back in 2009 and received rave reviews, and the two EPs they’ve released since.
